PalgravePalgrave is an imprint of Macmillan, a company with deep historic roots, publishing its first books in 1843. In 1861 The Golden Treasury of the Best Songs & Lyrical Poems in the English Language was published, edited by Francis Turner Palgrave, from whom Palgrave would later take its name. In 1970, Palgrave, under the imprint of Macmillan Press, published the first edition of one of its current bestselling titles, Engineering Mathematics by K. A. Stroud, followed two years later by the economics text Growth and Development by Thirlwall. The Mastering series launched in 1982 and Mastering Modern World History by Lowe is still a world-wide success today. Some of our key business titles were first published in the 1990s – Bratton and Gold’s Human Resource Management is now going into its sixth edition.
